Bridgerton 8211; the glossy period drama with a modern twist 8211; graced Netflix in late 2020 and it was excellent. Full of scandal, drama, sex and romance, it was the TV series that had us all hooked on Lady Whistledown8217;s detailing of the events from start to finish.
The first series was inspired by Juila Quinn8217;s book 8211; 8216;The Duke and I8217; 8211; which is the first of eight so there is plenty of material to see us binge on Bridgerton for quite a while longer. Netflix has confirmed a season 2, 3 and 4 so far.
Here is everything we know so far about Bridgerton season 2 and when it will hit our screens.
Bridgerton season 2 release date: When is it out?
Netflix confirmed Bridgerton would see a season 2 on 21 January 2021, followed by confirming a season 3 and 4 on 13 April 2021.
It then confirmed on the one-year anniversary of the season one that Bridgerton season 2 would air on 25 March 2022.
How and where to watch Bridgerton season 2
When Bridgerton season 2 lands on 25 March 2022, it be on Netflix only. Unsurprising, given its a Netflix original series 8211; and one of the biggest ones so far 8211; so you8217;ll need to make sure you have your Netflix subscription ready.
How many episodes will there be in Bridgerton season 2?
Bridgerton season 1 had eight episodes so it wouldn8217;t be too surprising to see a similar number for season 2, though currently we don8217;t know.
Each episode is likely to be an hour long though, as they were in season 1 so we can hope for at least eight hours of more drama and Lady Whistledown reporting.
What is expected to happen in Bridgerton season 2
As mentioned, the first season of Bridgerton was inspired by Julia Quinn8217;s 8216;The Duke and I8217;, which focused on the relationship between the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset, and the oldest of the Bridgerton daughter8217;s, Daphne Bridgerton.
The second season is expected to be inspired by the second book, 8216;The Viscount Who Loved Me8216;. It will focus on eligible bachelor Anthony Bridgerton and a woman called Edwina Sharma. Though of course, nothing will be straightforward as that doesn8217;t make for good TV, so Edwina8217;s sister Kate will make sure Lady Whistledown has something to write about for her Society Papers.
Dear Readers, I dare say this may be the most exciting edition of my column yet8230; pic.twitter.com/jwOJwl6zQi
Julia Quinn also told the BBC: 8220;I8217;m just so excited because I know what8217;s in book two, having written it, and I think there are some scenes that are going to be so incredible and people are going to love.8221;
There may also be some news regarding Penelope Fetherington and Colin Bridgerton, known to some fans as 8220;Polin8221;. Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope, tweeted a selfie of her and Luke Newton, who plays Colin. The tweet said 8220;Polin: Year two8221; with a bee emoji that represents Quinn8217;s books, which has excited fans.
Who will be cast in Bridgerton season 2?
Well given season 2 is expected to be focused on Anthony Bridgerton, among others, we know Jonathan Bailey, who plays him, will be back. Most of the season one cast are also expected to return, including Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne and Lady Whistledown8217;s voiceover Julie Andrews. Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, and Adjoa Andoh are also expected to return.
Unfortunately, we won8217;t see the return of the Duke of Hastings, Rege-Jean Page, for the second season. At least not for a full season. The actor previously said he wasn8217;t returning to the show, though more recently didn8217;t rule out a cameo or guest appearance, skirting around the topic in an interview with GQ, saying 8220;You know I couldn8217;t tell you!8221;, followed by 8220;Isn8217;t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren8217;t suspecting?8221;.

Netflix has confirmed four new additions to the cast for the second season though: Charithra Chandran as Edwina Sharma, Shelley Conn as Edwina and Kate Sharma8217;s mum, Calam Lynch as Theo Sharpe and Rupert Young as Jack. Simone Ashley will play Kate Sharma.
Bridgerton has added four actors to Season 2:
Charithra Chandran will play Edwina Sharma, Kate’s younger sister and Shelley Conn will play Mary Sharma, Kate’s mother.

Is there a trailer for Bridgerton season 2?
There8217;s not a trailer yet, though Netflix has released a First Look, which focuses on a brief conversation between Anthony Bridgerton and Edwina Sharma, giving us a taster of what we can expect from the two. It also confirmed the second season would arrive in 2022 before the second video that told us the official date.
Where to catch up on Bridgerton season 1
All eight episodes of Bridgerton season 1 are still available to watch on Netflix so you can refresh your memory as to what happened in that social season as much as you like ahead of the new season.
Will there be a season 3 of Bridgerton?
Yes. Netflix has confirmed there will be a season 3 and season 4 of Bridgerton so far, meaning plenty of drama still to come.
