Did you recently get a Fitbit smartwatch like the Fitbit Versa or Fitbit Versa 2? If you’re finding it’s not quite accurate in calculating your steps, you can change it to enjoy the most accurate Fitness tracker on the market! Here’s how to change your stride length to improve your step count.

How can I make Fitbit more accurate?

To make your Fitbit more accurate when it counts steps, you need to adjust what’s called Stride Length.

How to calibrate Fitbit

To customize your stride lengrth ort calibrate your Fitbit to count your steps better, open the Fitbit app, and choose the Today tab from the bottom of the screen. Tap your profile image to enter Account settings, then scroll down to Advanced Settings near the bottom of the list. At the bottom is Stride Length, and you can adjust it for both walking and running.

Wondering how you should best calculate your stride length? To measure your walking stride length, go to a track or some place where you’re sure of the distance. Or mark it out in your yard or driveway with a measuring tape. Count your steps as you walk across that distance, making sure you travel at least 20 steps. Divide the total distance (in feet) taken by the number of steps to get your stride length. Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk.
