It8217;s looking more and more likely that at least one of the iPhone models announced this week will be the first to offer dual-SIM card support.
In a post on the China Mobile Facebook page, the Chinese network uses an illustration of an Apple (the fruit) and a pair of SIM cards to make its point. Meanwhile, a leaked advertisement from the rival China Telecom network is more explicit. It says “New iPhone coming soon, dual SIM support, I’ve been waiting for you.”

Given both the ads have leaked in China, it appears this feature will be aimed at that market – if it comes to fruition. It8217;s not sure whether it8217;ll be available in all markets, or on all devices Apple plans to launch on September 12.
This isn8217;t the first time we8217;ve gotten wind of the rumoured plans. There are references to the dual-SIM support in the iOS 12 beta, while the noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the largest 6.5-inch iPhone Xs Max will get the option. Bloomberg also claimed the top-end models would be those to benefit from the change.
The good news is we won8217;t have to wait very longer to find out the score. Apple will launch the new iPhones this coming Wednesday.
We8217;ll have full coverage of the Gather Round event from 6pm UK time. Along with a trio of new iPhone handsets, Apple is also thought to be announcing the Apple Watch Series 4. We8217;ll also get the final look at iOS 12, which will be rolling out shortly before the new devices go on sale.
