The newly-redesigned Microsoft Outlook email and calendar client is beginning to roll out on the the web and as an app for Windows 10. The new and improved version of Outlook client is available to Targeted Release customers, who can select a 8216;Try the new Outlook8217; toggle switch.
Inspired by the mobile version of the app, users will be able to access intelligent search to surface recent and regular contacts and conversations. There8217;s also a new Files module (see below) that8217;ll show the files send and received in your inbox.
Microsoft has also added suggested replies to Outlook in much the same way Google has with Gmail. This will enable quick click replies like 8220;Sure thing8221;, or 8220;I8217;m on it8221;. Calendar wise, Microsoft is simplifying event creation and meeting room selections with the new version of Outlook.
8220;You can now quickly add events to your calendar with updated event icons, so you can quickly identify events and see location suggestions to get address details,8221; the company writes in a blog post.
Elsewhere, the firm is also simplifying the way users access the add-ins from favourite apps like Tello, Evernote, Boomerang, PayPal, while making it easy to add specific folders for favourite people and categories for faster access from the inbox.
Right now the update is rolling out to Targeted Release customers on the web and within the Windows 10 app. There8217;s no launch for Mac users just yet. It8217;s not clear when Microsoft will roll out the completed version of the Outlook Client, but it says there are plans to iterate, improve, refine or discard new features over the next few months.
