Amazon is offering newcomers to its Prime service a one year subscription for just £59 – that8217;s a £20 saving on the usual price.
As part of its Bank Holiday Sale, the UK-only discount applies to new customers rather than existing or lapsed subscriptions. Once the 12-month period has expired, the rate will revert to £79 unless otherwise cancelled.
The offer only lasts until August 30, but if new sign-ups jump on board they8217;ll have access to all of the same perks as existing members. Naturally, there8217;s the unlimited one-day delivery on all Prime-eligible products sold by Amazon. This also includes early access to Amazon8217;s sought-after Lightning Deals.
Subscribers all have instant access to the library of Prime Video TV shows and movies, including Amazon Originals. Amazon is also touting its live streaming coverage of the US Open tennis tournament, which starts on Monday August 27.
There8217;s plenty to keep music and book-lovers happy with two million songs offered through Prime Music and a number of Kindle books, magazines and comics available through the Prime Reading Library. Gaming enthusiasts get free access to Twitch Prime, while it8217;s also possible to back up your photographs via Amazon Drive.
Only offering the deal to new subscribers is unlikely to please Amazon8217;s loyal Prime members, but the play here is clearly to bring as many newcomers on board as possible before things get really busy. The Black Friday sales are just a few months away, with Christmas following shortly thereafter.
If you don8217;t fancy taking advantage of the deal today, new customers can still sign up for a free 30-day trial of the Amazon Prime service. There8217;s also the chance of another Prime subscription offer later this year, prior to Black Friday, so keep your eyes peeled.
