How to watch Nvidia’s graphics card announcement today

It’s almost here, we’re just a couple of hours away from Nvidia’s pre-Gamescom event, where the company is widely expected to announce its Turing graphics cards, the RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 and RTX 2070. Here’s how to watch all the announcements live so you don’t miss a thing

For those not in the know, Turing is the next generation of Nvidia’s graphics card technology and follows from Pascal, which was first released around two years ago.

A new generation primarily means much faster cards, which will be capable of running your games at higher settings and better frame rates.

However, each new generation tends to bring with it a new bundle of toys to play with, whether it’s game-streaming or variable refresh rate technology like G-Sync.

This time the big talking point is ray-tracing, which is a much more accurate way of rendering light that should make games look especially realistic. Nvidia’s already shown off the tech in its professional-grade cards, the Quadro series, and all bets are on the same functionality making its way to the consumer cards.

If you want to watch the event live at 5pm then you’ve got a couple of options.

The easiest at the moment is to watch the event on Twitch, since Nvidia’s countdown timer to the event is already live.

However if you’d rather watch on another platform, then Nvidia’s YouTube channel is likely to also play host to a stream.
